“Control is not leadership; management is not leadership; leadership is leadership.”

Control is not leadership; management is not leadership; leadership is leadership. If you seek to lead, invest at least 50 percent of your time in leading yourself your own purpose, ethics, principles, motivation, conduct. Invest at least 20 percent leading those with authority over you and 15 percent leading your peers.

Kumudini Peace Council is the oldest club of Kumudini. It is associated with Bikalpa, a social organization with ties to more than 20 schools in Kathmandu District. Kumudini Peace Council is composed of 10+ members with their own status and responsibilities like President, Financial Chairperson, Advisory Chairperson, Ordinary Members and so on. The club members are re-elected every year. The election of members to a particular position is based on the recommendation of teacher and students rather than going for a full-fledged election. The club was established with the aim of providing leadership skills to students. The club aims to teach students about the power of authority and the impact of good as well as bad decisions. We believe that the major reason behind today’s Nepalese Politics is the fact that no one wants to take authority and nobody knows about the impact of the decision taken by the authority over public. So through this club, we aim to groom future leaders of this nation. The club members are allowed to utilize their yearly budget provided by Kumudini as well as Bikalpa on organizing various awareness related or fun related programmes; completely take over such programmes and make all the managerial as well as other decisions to successfully complete those programmes. Till date, the club has organized various programmes such as: Menstrual Hygiene Programme, Kho-Kho Competition and others.
